During the pandemic I unloaded a small box of Expo 67 paraphernalia to a collector in Montreal. I was too young to remember much, but we drove to the Expo from Massachusetts. I only have a wooden Finnish spoon remaining.
That was before my time in Canada but I still hear a lot of people (including my wife) talk about it. World Expos used to be a big deal but there doesn’t appear to be much interest in them anymore. Interesting that you kept the Finnish wooden spoon.
Unfortunately, no photos of the Expo Dome or Habitat 67. There wasn’t enough time to get over to the island on this trip. We did see them from the Bateaux Mouche tour but not able to get decent photos.
Glad you enjoyed the photos, Joe. We had the complete opposite when we were there with a 45C humidex. Not sure which would be more preferable, the cold or the heat. Somewhere in between would definitely be ideal though.
Always interesting to see a visitor's perspective on the city of my youth. Living across the river from downtown, the city was just a bike ride away across the Jacques Cartier bridge featured in two of your photographs, which are delightful.
It's the series that conveys the magic. I do like the kids in the fountain and the couple in the diner (or whatever it is) looking at the bridge. Very inspiring!
Thank you, Joan! I agree with you about the “mountain” (unfortunately, it was way too hot to walk up there on this trip) and bikes (although there is a bike in one of the photos)….they are definitely part of what makes up Montreal.
As for part 2, it’s going to be a different take on the city. Hope you like it.
Beautiful work. Love these. Have to visit Montreal someday!
Thank you, Glenn! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with a trip to Montreal.

I hope you get to the Expo dome and Habitat 67 in part two!

Or they overdone?
I don’t think so. There’s usually a way to get a different view of an overdone subject. Hopefully on the next trip.
The wheel photograph is lovely Mark!
Thanks, Shital!
Beautiful pictures of Montreal!
Thank you.
Thanks for this lovely set of images reminding me of a place I miss.
Need to go back soon.
We were last there during the Polar Vortex of 2014 or so for NYE. -20 F for a daytime high temp! But we still got out there and soaked in the city.

Thanks John. I feel the same way about Toronto. It’s always interesting to see someone else’s perspective.

Thank you so much for commenting, Ingo! Happy to hear that you enjoyed the series.
Very nice series. And I'd add, Montreal is also bikes and the "mountain".... But you did say there'd be a part 2, didn't you.

Great light throughout. Love these. And then “worldly man” keeping an eye over Place des Arts! So good.
Ooops! Or is it St. Denis?
Thanks so much, Marcello! The Cohen mural is actually on Crescent Street. It’s very impressive.
