I'm with you Mark, I find airport the airport experience quite stressful. These photos are great, they remind me of Garry Winogrand series in airports though he photographed to overcome his fear of flying I think. Here's a link to some of that series: https://fraenkelgallery.com/portfolios/garry-winogrand-airport
Thanks Xavi! Really appreciate you providing that link to Winogrand’s photos. Those are really good. Nowadays, you have to be careful about taking photos in airports. I’ve been told to delete photos by security in the past. Some people take their jobs way too seriously 😆
Yes, I noticed. While looking for that Winogrand project Google gave me hundreds of links to airport photography rules all over the world before listing the project.
I love this Mark! Oh and I long to go home to England! I hope you had a great time or are having a great time! These are great shots and love the black and white choice! Of course it's the best thing to do while waiting at an airport. I love the outside structure at Portland Airport. I'd always take pictures while waiting for the bus to take me to mum and dad's back in the day. ox
Thanks Deborah. We’ve been back a couple of weeks now but it was a very good trip. It was good to reconnect and spend quality time with people we haven’t seen for a while and to visit some new places. It’s nice to be back home in Toronto though.
As I sit here at departure lounge of Pearson International Airport waiting to board a flight ✈️ to Robert Stanfield Halifax International Airport your insights into Airports is spot on
When we travel to the UK we typically cross the channel by ferry. That is also always a nice opportunity for an hour of photography. If you look carefully (and think rusty things are interesting) there's lots to photograph 🙂 Great selection of photos Mark 👍
Thanks Ronald! I definitely agree with you about ferries (and any other form of water transportation). Lots to photograph if we open our eyes and minds to the possibilities.
I don't think I would have thought these were iPhone shots if you hadn't said so - I certainly can't get results as good as that with it! Love the top photo with the many layers merging as one - fabulous.
Thanks, Diana! I’ve just started using an iPhone 15 Plus. The camera is way better than any other iPhone I’ve used. I’ve been amazed at the sharpness and clarity. The photos here were edited in Lightroom mobile and converted to black and white, my preference for street and architectural shots. So glad to hear that you like them.
Impressive quality from the iphone, Mark. B&W works really well for the steel and glass, and shows off the architectural design... lots of aeronautical-type features around the structures and windows. The architects did well and you have captured them well.
Thank you so much, Mike. The latest iPhones have pretty good cameras and I use mine a lot if I don’t have my DSLR with me. As you say, B&W works really well for architectural photos and it’s my go to edit for those types of shots. Glad you liked them and thanks for taking the time to comment.
Love the structural shots and your editing choices. Very nice collection.
Thank you! I really appreciate you saying that.

Reflections are always interesting. Some nice ones here Mark!
Thanks, Shital!
Nice architectural imagery! You never know what you’ll find unless you look around to see. But then… voila!
Thanks Donn! That’s exactly right, it’s there but you have to open your eyes and mind to it.
Best iPhone photos I've seen in long time.
Thanks Álvaro! That’s very kind of you to say that 😊.
